Hi
I have already made a post in the title of “Something missing”. Rather I can say Ragu has already posted it. It was on What I feel, What I thought….. and mostly on “I and me”. I feel / believe that these posts are not only for “I”. It is for We. If you ask me the question how it is for We? Then I have the answer for it.
Man has created most of the world. If you talk about motor revolution, telecom revolution, medical sciences, engineering, everything we are still going forward to make new inventions. Even the most valuable discovery of a man is “GOD”. So, we have created god too… If you notify it deeply, all the inventions or discovery that mankind does is everything live for others. For example, if you take a pencil, it writes for you till the end or till you throw it out. So, you take anything for an example, it serves / lives for you till it ends.
Let us take creation of God - nature. It gives you everything that you want. It gives you light, food, shelter, clothes, medicines and whatever you name it. It has some purpose to exist. Here I refer purpose means, it has some work to do for others like mankind or any animals or creatures or anything. You cant see a part of nature is saying that I will give my life only to my family or referring to any of the community. It is for everybody or anybody. It shares everything it has with it, to everybody and anybody.
At this stage I think aren’t we the part of nature? Normally we live for us and to maximum for our family or friends. We earn for us and for our family. We do everything for us and for our family. What about the law of nature then? Are we trying to extend our arms? Is it possible for us to live for others?
So, here what it means, live for others? In countries like India, it requires lot of fresh hands to deliver lot of fresh ideas and to implement them as well. For example, most of the villages doesn’t have proper education. Children are struggling to study in most of the family due to financial constraints or due to some other constraints. Even parents itself are the road block for them in some of the cases. Isn't it our responsibility to make it right? Help them to study or educate their parents first to make them to give education to their children.
It is just an example. We can work on so many things that society requires our attention.
I know some of us will start arguing that practically it is not possible and blah blah blah… Moreover it is the fact that it is not practically possible for the kind of people who is visualizing his small world, small family with small hearts like us. But if we think from our inner heart it will say, yes it could be possible. Thinking from the inner heart is what is “SOMETHING MISSING”.
Note: idha naan oru naal nallavana pesala…. It is pricking me for so many years, as I said in “something missing – part1”. And this blog is not to blame us directly, but to have an inner thought / small insight of being a mankind.
Let us try to live for others.
MSK
You remind me of one guy called Hamlet. You to be more specific are the personification of his famous monologue, "To be or not to be"

In my opinion, "giving back to society" can be perceived differently by every individual. Just like your intention is "to educate poor student", it could be different for others. But at the outset, I don't deny that something should be given back to society. That should happen and everyone constantly thinks it (or) somewhere its implicitly happening. Just a very basic example is the Income Tax we pay without cheating the government. Again, the 1Rs/day initiative we enrolled in HCL is of its own kind. These are definitely for "others" and not for the benefit of my family. But if you are thinking beyond this like stepping ourselves into the field and work for the uplift of others, it requires dedicated time, money, support and patience for it. Just having few thousands as bank balance and pile of responsibilities ahead, it doesn't give me any big courage to step out my responsibilities and serve for society. Also top guns like Shiv Nadar who are well funded and stable are already doing such things like opening colleges, training institutions, NGOs for helping others. I would be happy participating, supporting and contributing to his initiative my best way, rather opening up my own channel. May be this is my mindset. But from your blog, it looks like you have a burning desire to give back to society, and do keep it burning. Till we get ourselves ignited, we are definitely there to support you in your initiative at our level best.
